During a night's
sleep your body fasts - no food, no drink, no fuel. In the moring
you break the fast with 'breakfast'.Your body has been without
food for those sleeping hours and it needs refuelling.
Breakfast
is important and it will help stop your energy stores such as
blood sugar - from lowering during the early part of the day.
A
healthy breakfast will help boost your energy level and
set you up for the day ahead.
Consider
a bowl
of porridge or high fibre breakfast cereal and check for
one that is low in fat, sugar and salt. Rember to buy
semi-skimmed milk.
Our
body needs iron and lots of it. Females need more iron
than boys. It helps the body make haemoglobin, this is
the red pigment in our blood that carries oxygen around
the body.
Good
sources of iron include; Red meat such as beef and lamb.

Healthy
breakfast cereals such as muesli Rude Health make a muesli
with 23 ingredients, very impressive when most have fewer
than 12.
It means that every spoonful is different; sometimes you
get some plump blueberries with a bite of Brazil nuts and
almonds.
Sometimes you get soft apricots and tingly little seeds.
When it comes to the grains, there's no wheat, just quinoa,
oats, rye and barley flakes to make it light and crunchy.

Other sources

cabbage, broccoli and dark salad leaves, dried fruit such as apricots
or raisins, nuts and seeds such as cashews or almonds, lentils,
peas and beans, including baked beans.
Fact: Peanuts
are not nuts - they are from the pea family...true!
